🚲 Bike Safety Starts Before You Ride ~ ROLL SAFE, BRANDON!

This week we'd like to focus in on bike safety 🩵Before you head out on your bike, take a moment to make sure you’re ready for a safe ride.

🪖 Helmet on!
Helmets are required by law for cyclists under 18 in Manitoba — but they're a smart choice at ANY age. Make sure yours fits properly and is securely fastened.

🚲 Bikes & E-bikes
Whether you’re riding a traditional bicycle or an e-bike, know the rules of the road and make sure your bike is equipped for safe riding.

💡 Be seen!
Especially in the evening or low-light conditions, use proper lights and reflectors and consider wearing bright or reflective clothing.

📵 Eyes up, distractions down.
Stay alert, watch for vehicles and pedestrians, and keep your attention on where you're going.

A few simple steps before you ride can make a big difference.

Parents, educators, and picture book enthusiasts are invited to swap children's books to add to and diversify their personal or classroom collections! Please bring gently used picture books that you are willing to part with in exchange for "new to you" titles. This event is geared towards adults, any minors in attendance must be supervised. RSVP is preferred but walk-ins are also welcome. Please email [email protected] to sign up.

🍁 Terry Fox Day | August 3, 2026 🍁

Terry Fox Day, observed on August 3, 2026, honours the life and legacy of Terry Fox, whose courage, determination, and selflessness continue to inspire Canadians and people around the world.

All Brandon School Division schools, facilities, and the Division Office will be closed on Monday, August 3rd, in recognition of Terry Fox Day.

Regular summer office hours will resume on Tuesday, August 4th.
