While we wouldn't want bugs as an extra hotel guest, trees are like a bed and breakfast for wildlife in the Watershed. As winter approaches, plants provide crucial food and shelter for these critters.

Upon closer inspection, we would find that trees are habitats for insects, particularly overwintering larvae in the wood and bark. Wildlife like woodpeckers, rely on these tree guests for sustenance. Next time you see a woodpecker pecking away, it might not be for wood but to grab some grub to survive the winter.
