New changes coming to Canadian Citizenship from OCT 11, 2017.
Physical presence is reduced back to 3 yrs. out of 5 yrs. from the day when you file the citizenship application.
No more mandatory presence of 183 days every year.
Days prior to becoming a Permanent resident will also be counted. Half the number of the days will be counted but one can accumulate one-year maximum.
Test for 18-54yrs only

Faster processing for spousal reunification
As announced on December 7, 2016, IRCC is working to finalize the majority (about 80 percent) of applications already received within 12 months, by the end of December 2017.
The Government of Canada is making it faster and easier for Canadians and permanent residents to reunite with their spouses.
At the direction of the Minister, earlier this year Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) began a concerted effort to reduce processing times.
Most spousal applications now will be processed in 12 months. Complex cases may require more time.
These new changes are expected to benefit more than 64 000 applicants by the end of 2017, and are the latest measures to bring families together.
