Today, we recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and take time to honour the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis children who were taken from their families and communities and sent to Residential Schools.

At Rowntree, we believe that learning is an important part of reconciliation. Our students and staff take time to learn about the history and experiences of Indigenous peoples, honour Survivors, and reflect on the importance of respect, understanding, and compassion.

🏃‍♂️💙 Running for a Reason! 💙🏃‍♀️

Today, our Rowntree community came together for our Terry Fox Run, honouring Terry’s incredible legacy and his determination to make a difference. 🌟

Our students proudly wore stickers sharing what they were running for, giving each lap and every step a special meaning. 👟 From family and friends to causes close to their hearts, our students had plenty of reasons to keep moving!

In true Rowntree spirit, our students also incorporated different languages into their Terry Fox Run experience, celebrating our school’s commitment to multilingualism and global connectedness. 🌎🗣️✨

We are so proud of our students for showing determination, compassion, community spirit, and heart throughout today’s run!

Our Prep-ONE students are building their number sense through hands-on learning! Using concrete materials, students practised comparing numbers and identifying whether a number is fewer than, more than, or the same as another number.
