🧠 Your gut and brain are constantly communicating.
Food isn’t just about calories, protein, carbs and fats. Every time we eat, we’re also feeding the trillions of microorganisms that live in our gut. This community—our gut microbiota—plays an important role in digestion, immune function, metabolism, appetite and the communication between our gut and brain.
So how can we support it? 🌱
Prioritize fibre-rich foods such as beans, lentils, fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Include fermented foods when appropriate, stay physically active, get adequate sleep and manage stress. At the same time, try not to let highly processed, low-fibre foods dominate your diet.
Nutrition is much bigger than simply counting calories. Take care of your gut, and you’re supporting a system that affects your whole body.
