Due to the exhaustive list of responsibilities that Scrum Masters have, a specific skillset is required in order to be truly effective. As with other lists of skills set posts, this is also not exhaustive. The main purpose of having a Scrum Master is to ensure that the team is actively following the guidelines of Scrum and Agile. Although the idea of Scrum may seem simple and straightforward, Scrum comes with its own set of terms and phrases that leaders need to understand in order to use the framework properly. Therefore, knowledge of these systems and terminologies is absolutely necessary.

The 7th edition of PMBOK® recognizes the continuing evolution of project delivery methods and practices and condenses them into principles that can be utilized in any project across any industry or vertical to manage and deliver projects.

Not only did Agile and Hybrid project management approach make their way to mainstream content of the guide along with the existing Predictive delivery approach, but the fundamental change influencing PMBOK is based on principles!

PMBOK 7th edition moves away from a process-oriented approach to principles-oriented approach; thus supporting ANY type of project delivery.

I’m excited about this project delivery approach as it makes it more action-focused or practitioner-friendly. Also, the focus is on project outcomes than just the project deliverables. Should I do a live to talk more about this? 🤔

Every project needs complete (functional and non-functional) requirements. The user story focuses on the experience — what the person using the product wants to be able to do. No matter how we break it apart, though, a user story can to an extent be viewed as only the functional part of a requirement and is incomplete in that it is missing the “how well” it does the function.
