Response of students to the task statement is not well developed. Instead of explaining their position clearly, they just keep on listing the points. IELTS Writing: Tips regarding word count.
1. Always write more than 150 words for Task 1 and 250 words for Task 2.
2. You will be penalized for writing under word limit.
3. Although there is no upper limit, it is highly advised to write 150-190 words for Task 1 and 250-290 words for Task 2.
4. Don’t write too much. Firstly, you will lose focus and there is high probability to include irrelevant information. Secondly, chances of mistakes pertaining to grammar and other inaccuracies increase.
5. Don’t include hook in the introduction. This doesn’t impact the band score.
6. Attempt for 2 or 3 body paragraphs depending upon the requirement of the essay. For instance, opinion essay may get greater score in case of 3 body paragraphs.
