Little Leaders Preschool Pod

It’s time to say bye to this Little Leaders Learning Pod..well it’s been closed now for over a year but honestly I didn’t have the heart to close this account b/c I truly love all of the followers and every account I follow as well. This community has been ANAZING and so supportive and I have learned so much from you all...together we have risen when it was a challenge to even live and stand tall in our beliefs in this country. I will always be dedicated to uplifting the lives of our children and advocate to keep them outside of the system, as much as we can. To all the families who came and supported this pod - thank you. To all who promoted and advocated on behalf of this pod -thank you! If you’re in need of any resources/ info for alternatives to public education, then is your best bet.

I have already changed the handle to reflect me personally. I plan to use this account as a lifestyle space of sorts .. you know, the lawyer life mixed with raising a 6 year old with a dash of unschooling and also sharing fun recipes, children’s books, the latest community events, informative ‘stuff’, options and programs at some of the best awake schools around us, suggestions for great accounts to follow .. and the list goes on. If you feel like following, please do! And if you don’t, no hard feelings - you do you 😊. Cheers to everyone and to new beginnings! This page so needs an update! We had an AMAZING first year! I am so thankful that I was able to host a pod and provide an opportunity for 6 other families (7 other kids), to stay out of the system and experience a whole new level of education.

The months flew by, from learning about the solar system to making electricity, to visits at Downeys Farm and the Fire Hall…our children, and us parents - have some lovely memories of a beautiful learning pod, a homeschool collective.

With change, comes growth, and with growth, comes change, and it’s time to experience other learning spaces. We will not be continuing the pod, at least this fall, and may revisit creating a pod again sometime next year.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out inquiring about registration and space. I truly wish I could offer something at this time …. But, who knows, maybe one day again.

So what will this page become? To be honest, I’m really not sure. I’m dedicated to non traditional approaches to education for our children and anything that supports their growth and learning. I don’t want to just delete this page as I appreciate this following so much and also want to stay connected with this community.

Perhaps I will use this page to reflect the journey of a freedom fighting mother, and use it as an information / teaching / advocating opportunity. I’m not sure yet.

I’ve got a ton of ideas as to how I’d like to see this page grow and the posts I can create, but for now, I’m in passive mode and will just wait to see to where my inclination lies. I trust this page will evolve into what’s it’s meant to be.

What is an educator? Anyone who LOVES to teach kids and help them LEARN and grow! You don’t have to be board certified, you don’t have to have an ECE or Montessori certificate… BUT. What you do need is the love of teaching and want to mix up your week a bit! We are looking for an educator to join our team, anywhere from 1-3 days a week. We operate Mon to Wed, from 930am to 2pm. The start of the school year is just TWO WEEKS AWAY! Tues Sept 6th begins the new school season and we can’t wait! We’ve got two more spots available - please DM me and we will reserve early bird pricing for you.

We are moving our open house to Thursday as I’m under the weather. We will hold early bird pricing until Thursday for you, as long as you send us a DM by tomorrow night confirming intention to register and attendance at Open house on Thursday.

We can’t wait for our next open house! We have two spots left in our pod for the 2022/2023 term. Open house is this Wed Aug 24, from 3-6.

We provide a fun, academic and practical based learning environment where we emphasize literacy and STEM every day. We also love and appreciate all the things that make learning fun and will incorporate music, French, yoga and so much more to provide these little kids with a dynamic learning experience.

We are conveniently located in Brampton east, just 30 mins away from most major cities (you are driving against traffic to come to us :). Please DM us to confirm your attendance and we will provide you with our home address.

We are excited to announce that we will also be including grade 1 in our pod! We will now be hosting JK / SK and Grade 1. We have a beautiful dynamic going and can’t wait to add a few older students in.

Our program is a fun and enriching academic program focusing daily on literacy activities and STEM.

There’s 3 weeks left until school starts. Yes, 3 weeks from now is Sept 6. Labour day weekend will be done, and we will move forward with the flow of the season to create a new sense of routine and structure in our lives.

We do believe in unschooling, but we also believe in just a little bit of routine. Routine makes kids feel grounded, it gives them an idea of what their week looks like, it also gives them a sense of control, makes them feel safe, and helps them build and develop healthy habits.

From our research, it seems like most families prefer a part time program. So we are bringing it to you.

We will have 3 days a week of school (days to be discussed amongst registered families), with an optional 4th day field trip / extracurricular day where the parents attend with their children for an activity or event.
