I came across this today - some food for thought.
My fees are a little more, but it's basically $5.50 an hour, and I haven't changed my fees for 4 years.
There are soooo many pros to going to a home daycare. Low ratios, feeling and being safe and comfortable in your surroundings, and building strong relationships with friends and the provider just to name a few. I have some of my families here from when I first opened - this isn't just a "daycare" it's a second home!
Like the post says, yes it's "expensive" but home daycare provides a lot!!! Love, patience, hugs, strong safe relationships, and obviously the materials too - food, crafts supplies, toys, beds etc
I'm definitely known to have Amazon here almost daily!
Also what isn't mentioned is that you get a tax receipt that helps towards your yearly taxes.
CWELCC sounds great with the lower fees (and in some cases 100% needed which is completely understandable) but in the long run it's the same thing - save now with lower fees or save later on your taxes - so if you can afford the "expensive" fees, I recommend looking at multiple daycares and finding exactly what your kiddo needs for their growth, development, and future :)

Happy National Scrabble Day!
I always love a good national day - with today being national Scrabble Day, we practiced our fine motor and cognitive skills as we picked up the pieces, recognized letters, looked for the match, and problem solved if it wasn't the right letter.
A March Mash!
With Dr Seuss day, St Patrick's Day, Easter, and other fun days... March was packed with engaging activities including fine motor crafts, a scavenger hunt, even a sink or float game!
February was busy with Valentine's Day, Family Day, and even national soup day! Here are a few pictures of our activities - we also did a lot of fun activities with pictures of our families including a family tree, and family name tags!

January was all about penguins and arctic animals. Ice fishing, colours, shapes, numbers, letters... Busy at play!
