The Setar is a traditional Persian instrument, part of the lute family, with its name derived from "se" (three) and "tar" (string). Though initially designed with three strings, it now commonly has four. Crafted mainly from mulberry wood, this delicate-sounding instrument has been central to Persian classical and Sufi music for centuries.
Note: It's distinct from the larger Indian sitar.

The Tar is a traditional Persian stringed instrument with a unique, pear-shaped body carved out of mulberry wood and a long, slim neck made of walnut. It has six strings, typically arranged in three courses or sets, and is played with a brass plectrum. The Tar is known for its deep, resonant sound and is a staple in classical Iranian music, renowned for its ability to convey a wide range of emotions.
