“One of the first questions I ask new students is, “What calculator do you have? “ It’s crucial to have the right type to succeed in your studies. My current students use the Casio fx-991 ES Plus C calculator, which offers several key features:

• Exact Answers: Get precise results without rounding.
• Repeat Calculations: Easily handle repeated functions and complex equations.
• Ratio and Fraction Keys: Simplify fractions and work with ratios effortlessly.

Having the right calculator ensures you’re fully equipped for high school math. If you don’t already have one, consider making the switch!” If you would like to learn more about how this calculator can help you with your studies, feel free to contact I can also be reached by texting or calling 905-914-5323.

Some are asking what does this do for you and why would you do it ? Kim Corrigan took these two pics. Session 1 vs 2.

Can you see the difference ?

After only two sessions , Kim has started to teach me how to handle my body’s responses to stress. This is a beginning , so there’s still lots to improve on.

Immediate benefits. And for this reason alone, we should ALL cold plunge , every day.

After my cold plunge I felt calm , full of energy and warmth. I felt like I could freely breathe and move forward. And confidently choose what I want to do next 💫

There are other benefits , but you all should try it for yourself. It’s really is the only way !

When I’m asked, “How does it feel to be a grandpa ?”. I never know what to say 🤷🏻‍♂️. I think I’ll just show them this picture , so they can see for themselves 🥰💫

This student gathered the data from the assigned website .

She then did the data analysis that was listed in the assessment.

They assigned her the NHL regular season 2001-2002 (because she has a huge interest in this topic 🤦‍♂️)

Frequency tables, Pie Charts Bar graphs.

All the categories were covered and she got the RIGHT ANSWERS.

She got all the correct answers using the methods that SHE UNDERSTOOD using the software she was required to use google sheets and docs (sub par software , but free). Even though her software was much easier and better to use.

But somehow this wasn’t GOOD enough !

So he showed her EXACTLY HOW to do each step and TOLD her to START OVER and do it this WAY.

I’m starting to think there is ONE METHOD taught in school. And you better Get it because alternative methods will not be acceptable.
What’s crazy is the same assignment could be handed in to a teacher in another ontario high school and be totally correct 🤪

Do you ever log on to YouTube or Instagram for INSPIRATION and end up FEELING like an IMPOSTER?

I know I do ! But WHY ?

When I “SEE” what the TOP Math and Science Personalities are doing … I get excited about their projects! And It’s Professionally Packaged and It’s ALL INSPIRING , ADDICTING and PERFECT results and …..

INTIMIDATING all at the same time 😵‍💫.

So what KEEPS me GOING 💫

KEEPING IT REAL!

I FIND that although these Videos are AWESOME for inspiring us to LEARN more ….. it’s seems to only transfer someone ELSE’S KNOWLEDGE to the VIEWERS …. There’s something missing !

LEARNING takes place in the DOING !!

What I believe I can offer is in person HANDS ON DISCOVERY LEARNING. I still offer the same type of PROJECTS that YouTube offers , but I provide the SPACE and TIME to EXPERIMENT and to make our own opportunities to LEARN through Trials and Errors.

Errors and mistakes are the valuable LEARNING opportunities that I’m looking for 😀. It’s not about being wrong , it’s about the retry’s and finding our OWN solutions and knowledge.

My logo emphasizes the Pi symbol to represent my LOVE of MATH. My math skills ALLOW me to branch out into the PHYSICAL sciences represented by the 🧲 symbol and LIFE sciences represented by the 🧪 symbol. They are all CONNECTED.

So if YOU FIND these Science and Math Videos INTIMIDATING as well but would like to give them a try with your kids …

I have the SPACE and the TIME to get OUR HANDS DIRTY and LEARN.

Contact me for any questions that you might have about SESSIONS for DISCOVERY LEARNING.

SHOW your KIDS this beautifully crafted piece of NATURE ART 🖼

Then go further and Explain - when they are CURIOUS and READY ….

SCIENCE and MATH connections 😍

Geometry, Angles, Boundaries, Light, Frequencies, Vibrations, Mediums Critical angle, Refraction , Bending Light , Transformation of Energy ….

How Fiber Optic Cables Work 💫

This snowflake is showing the effects of total internal light reflection. The light rays enter the water crystal structures and then it will travel along the boundary of the ice crystals.

Curious Now ?!?

If you’re looking for the BEST learning environment to teach Math to your kids. Check out a local Forest School 🌲😍

I’m DISCOVERING and HEARING from homeschooling parents that FOREST Schools have the right balance of math and discovery learning.

Unfortunately I’m not a Forest School

But , Maybe I can still HELP ?!?

Whether you are transitioning to Forest School or if your local forest school is full , I can help you make the math connections ✔️😍

Level up by Slowing Down !

IT’s time to Level Up 📈

Are your kids a little behind on completing their Math workbooks??

That’s ok !

They might be behind in their math workbooks, but they’ve been DOING MATH all along.

Math is the study of everyday experiences.

Now all we have to do is SLOW DOWN our thinking and make the Math CONNECTIONS to those experiences.

So don’t hurry to get caught up UNHURRY !!

Level up by Slowing Down !

The science of thinking 🤔
