💯 % It’s not a time to struggle over school. My own kids are bored and do their own online coursework without prompting or reminders. They’re looking forward to teacher-provided activities coming soon. Otherwise, I’m not trying to make the house a substitute school. (Besides rows and chalkboards and worksheets are not really what school is like anymore!!!) My Daughter? Researching and implementing workouts to to do with her friend over Instagram live (or whatever platform.). Learning to bake and cook. My son? Playing guitar for hours. (Had a Skype lesson with Marc Ford of the Black Crowes yesterday!). We sit down to a home cooked family meal every night and we hang out together (not as much as adults would like but they’re 15&17 so...). We talk about the news and their worries (apparently they have none. Lol)

Allow and foster creativity, exploration, new skills. Take the time to teach them basic life skills- cook, clean, do taxes, change a car tire. (All those things teachers get so annoyed at being told through memes we should be teaching at school...when we are consumed with actual sophisticated learning.)

Let this be a time for connection, love, quiet, and show kids how resilient adults are. This is what they should be learning at this time.
