We are gathering items for the Sandy Lake First Nation community members who are staying in Peterborough right now.

There are over 300 members of Sandy Lake who evacuated their community due to the wild fires and are in need of everything.

We are asking for your help to gather donations to take to the community. Please bring any donations to church on Sunday June 15.

The following list of items are needed.

- summer clothing of all sizes for all genders
- sandals and flip flops for children, women, and men
- hats for adults and children
- socks of all sizes
- T shirts of all sizes
- fruit cups, bear paws cookies and other snack foods
- towels
- blankets
- reusable water bottles
- baby items including diapers, pull-ups, wipes, formula, bottles
- toys and colouring books and crayons/pencil crayons
- personal hygiene products for all ages and genders (soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, menstrual products (pads and tampons), disposable razors for all genders, deodorant for all genders, body wash, etc.)

Gently used clothing items are welcome if they are in good condition and clean.

If you wish to give financially, the Nogojiwanong Friendship Centre in Peterborough is also accepting financial donations through Canadahelps.org . Please make a note when you donate about using the money for Sandy Lake First Nation.

Parking: Free parking is available at the Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel with a free shuttle service to and from the Powwow grounds

Admission:
$5 for children 12 and under and Elders 55+
$10 for adults

Admission can’t be purchased in advance; they can be purchased at the admission gate at the Powwow Grounds. CASH and debit accepted. However please be aware that there will be no ATM on site and not all vendors may accept debit or credit options.
