After more than 20 years of heartfelt dedication, our beloved teacher Helen will be retiring in 1.5 years — we taking our time and care searching for the next educator to guide Growing Space into its next chapter come 2027.
This is more than a teaching position. We are looking for a qualified ECE who feels called to lead, nurture, and shape a small community-based school — someone who wants to make the program their own while honouring the strong foundation already in place.

Growing Space is a small, established early learning program on beautiful Bowen Island. We are deeply rooted in community and guided by respect for the child, hands-on learning, and fostering capable, confident young learners.
Who You Are
- A certified Early Childhood Educator (ECE) in BC
- Passionate about child-led, play-based, and hands-on learning
- Interested in leadership and program development
- Warm, organized, and community-minded
- Excited by the opportunity to shape and run a small school
-Montessori experience is welcome but not required.
The Opportunity
- Lead teacher role with autonomy and creative input
- Supportive board and engaged parent community
- Transition period with current teacher before retirement
- Opportunity to grow the program and make it your own

Join us on Wednesdsy, November 12th from 4–8pm at Growing Space for a mini photo session.
Each family will enjoy a 10-minute shoot, resulting in 5–10+ high-resolution photos.
All proceeds support Growing Space — sessions are $60 each.
