Facing Our Fears!
Fear in it self, can rule us and paralyze us if we let it. Fear wants you to stay safe and gives you a false sense of security within your own limitations.
Here’s an exercise I give to my Coaching clients to help them face their fears: Take out a piece of paper and a pen and and make five columns on your paper.
- 1st column, make a list of the things that scare you the most.
- 2nd column. for each of those fears, write down what is the absolute worst thing that could happen if your fears came true.
- 3rd column, write down how likely the worst thing is to happen.
- 4th column, write down how that fear is holding you back.
- 5th column, pick one of the fears you’ve listed, write down how you are going to face that fear. Make it tangible- give yourself an action to take and a date by which you will take that action.
Don't let your Fears Run your Life! What may look like a small act of courage is courage nevertheless... the important thing is to be willing to take a step forward. Discover your courage by facing your fear. Carol Ann Brazier
