This a reminder for those parents who have cadets that will be departing for CTC Blackdown on Saturday July 4th that a joining instructions information package, participation offers and itineraries were sent home previously. In order for cadets to board the bus each must have their health card, signed pages from the joining instructions and travel itinerary. There will not be any exceptions.

2407 Army Cadet Corps had a very successful 75th Anniversary Annual Ceremonial Review. Congratulations to this years award recipients A huge thank you to Blind River Fire Chief Ryan Belair for being our Reviewing Officer this year. We are very appreciative for the attendance of all guests, parents and guardians that were able to make it. A special thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 189, Blind River, Ontario, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 432 Massey & Royal Canadian Legion Branch 561, Elliot Lake, Ont for your continued support of our cadets.

The Blind River Fire Department is proud to carry a Sensory Kit designed to help first responders communicate more effectively and provide comfort during emergency situations for individuals with autism and other sensory issues.

The Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) partners with Autism Canada to offer Sensory Support Kits, with $5 from every kit purchased donated to Autism Canada.
These kits help first responders and families support neurodivergent individuals during emergencies or stressful events.
These Sensory Support Kits are Developed alongside Autism Canada.
The kits are packed with practical tools designed to aid with sensory regulation and communication during high-stress incidents.

What's included?
Comfort Items: A soft plush toy
Sensory Tools: Noise-canceling earmuffs, tinted safety glasses, fidget spinners, pop-it games, and a squishy ball.
Communication Aids: Picture Exchange Communication (PEC) cards and a notepad to aid those who are non-speaking or overwhelmed.

Today our Commanding Officer 2LT Betty Riley accepted a generous donation of Izzy Dolls from the Iron Bridge Library Society. This is to support the https://izzydoll.org/en/ initiative of handmade Dolls for children in war torn regions. If you would like to get involved or wish to donate please send a private message and we would be happy to accommodate.

Those cadets that will be going to CTC, an information package was sent home. There are important documents that need to be reviewed and signed. There is also a packing list that was included.

As summer approaches, cadets are preparing for Cadet Training Centre experiences across Canada. Preparation ensures they are ready to learn, lead, and make the most of every opportunity.
