☀️ Happy Last Day of School! ☀️
We made it! Today marks the official end of the school year, and you should all be incredibly proud of the hard work, growth, and resilience you’ve shown over the past ten months.

Now, it’s time to close the textbooks and open up the summer plans. As you head into the break, keep a few things in mind:

Rest & Recharge: Take some well-deserved time to relax, sleep in, and unplug.

Enjoy the Holidays: Whether you are traveling, hanging out with friends, or catching up on your favorite hobbies, have an amazing time.

Stay Safe: Look out for one another, stay hydrated in the heat, and make smart choices so you can return in tip-top shape.

🗓️ Looking Ahead
See you back in September!
Enjoy every minute of your freedom, make some unforgettable memories, and come back ready for another great year.

Have a wonderful, safe, and happy summer vacation!

June 21, 2026 is the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. It's a time to recognize and celebrate the traditions, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and MĂŠtis.
National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. For generations, many First Nations, Inuit and MĂŠtis communities have celebrated their cultures, languages, and traditions at this time of year. The summer solstice holds deep spiritual and cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples, marking a time of renewal, connection, and celebration.

🏅 HISTORY IN MOTION
The starter’s horn sounded at Great Lakes Secondary School—and with it, a new LKDSB tradition was born.
For the first time, 531 elementary student athletes from across our entire board came together for a unified Track & Field Meet— with representation stretching from Wheatley to Grand Bend.
From powerful sprints to soaring jumps and electrifying relays, the day was filled with determination, sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments. Even more impactful? Students competing alongside peers they’d never met before, building connections that reached far beyond the finish line.
This wasn’t just a meet—it was the beginning of something bigger for LKDSB students.
