Our Iron Ridge Raccoons are shining bright! 🦝✨ Huge congratulations to three of our amazing Grade 3 students in Miss Reiter’s class for demonstrating our core values:

Today, we’re celebrating one of our Iron Ridge Raccoons for demonstrating the Sacred Teaching of Courage. By facing new experiences with a positive attitude, this student is showing us what courage can look like each and every day.

Today, we want to take a huge moment to celebrate the incredible educators here at IREC. Their passion, patience, and dedication to our students inspire us every single day. Whether they are teaching the basics or encouraging students to dream big, the impact they make goes far beyond the four walls of the classroom.

This week, we are celebrating students who have shown wonderful Love and Courage. From being a great friend with a beautiful, quiet presence who notices when classmates are struggling and steps right in to help, to showing the immense bravery it takes as a new student to show up every day, try new things, and make new friends, these amazing kids make our school a better place. This week, we are celebrating students who have shown amazing Respect, Honesty, Humility, and Love. From following the group plan and getting right to work so classmates can learn, to playing fair and following the rules during gym and recess, our students are making wonderful choices. We also have sweet learners who show humility by gracefully taking turns and lifting up their friends, and caring hearts who fill our classrooms with warmth and kindness, making everyone feel like they belong to one big family. Our Iron Ridge Raccoons are showing us how to live the 7 Sacred Teachings each and every day! 🦝✨

Today, we are proud to celebrate students who have demonstrated Courage and Respect. Whether they are bravely trying something new, persevering when learning feels challenging, showing kindness to others, or making respectful choices in the classroom and on the playground, these students are wonderful examples of growth and leadership.

Attention students and families! Tomorrow, September 29, we are asking all students to wear an orange shirt to school. 🧡

Wearing orange is a meaningful way for our school community to honor the Indigenous children who were sent to residential schools, stand in solidarity with survivors and their families, and remember those who never made it home.

It is an important day for our students to listen, learn, and reflect on the ongoing journey of Truth and Reconciliation. Let's fill the classrooms and hallways with orange tomorrow and stand together to share a simple but profound message: Every Child Matters.

We are so proud of our Grade 2 Iron Ridge raccoons right here in Blackfalds for continuing to embody the 7 Sacred Teachings! 🦝✨

This week, we are celebrating students who have shown amazing Love, Respect, and Courage. From spreading positivity by saying kind words to classmates and staff, to showing respect by listening closely without interrupting, and demonstrating the courage to raise a hand and share ideas even when feeling nervous, these incredible kids are making a huge impact in the classroom.
