Pumpkin Patch Nursery School Non-Profit Nursery School Philosophy
The "learning through play" philosophy is the most current and accepted philosophy of early childhood education.

A man named Frobel was the first person to develop this philosophy. It supports the concept that "Play is Child’s Work". Children learn as they manipulate their environment. Play is the fundamental, natural, universal activity of children. Play is what children do, what they have always done and what they must continue to do to actively learn. Pumpkin Patch Preschool‘s philosophy is to offer many

positive play and learning experiences that will aid in the assimilation of new concepts and foster confidence in the child’s ability to accomplish tasks and to be creative. Our program focuses on the whole child; the social, moral, creative, physical, intellectual and emotional development of the child. This is accomplished through modeling and providing experiences that will equip them with the tools they need to succeed. We strive to offer experiences that provide opportunities for the child to practice problem solving and experience group interactions, while building a positive self-image and strong self-esteem in each child. We believe that each child is a unique, special individual. At all times, we strive to meet the needs of the child and the child’s family. We value inclusiveness, multiculturalism and respect for others. We believe our preschool is enriched by the contributions of the families that are enrolled. We look forward to sharing your child’s growing years.
