‘Tis officially the season of greenery harvesting, wreath-making, baskets, dogwood bundles, NS holly bundles, Yule logs, and pitch-covered hands around here. First wreaths done, heading out the door Wednesday. LOVE everything about working outdoors in this cold, crisp weather. (Retro Christmas cassettes in the boombox in the barn for extra nostalgia.)

🍓 The last fresh strawberries from our garden are heading into a smoothie tomorrow morning. What a gift a garden is! 🍓 🍓

The autumn equinox. The day when the hours of daylight and night are exactly equal. The bright heat and long days of summer are behind us and the longer nights of fall and winter beckon. This day was celebrated by ancient peoples as a harvest festival, a time of thanks, the great turning of the light. The spiritual path may encourage us to use this season to reflect on what needs letting go, to consider how our wishes for rebirth in the spring have come to fruition, and to prepare for the colder months ahead. I smell the crisp air, see the early changing leaves, watch my gardens slowing down, and know with thanks in my heart that the harvest is peaking and our cozy wood stove will soon be warming our home. Autumn (Mabon) is my favourite time of year. 💛🧡❤️

Our property was looking fantastic on Sunday when we walked through a “wedding venue first meeting” with a happy couple looking for an outdoor venue for their nuptials in 2026. It feels wonderful to have created this sanctuary for ourselves, our guests, and for the other wild beings who share this land with us.

Our barn and grounds are all set up! We have guests arriving at 12:45pm tomorrow afternoon for a day of stress relief, nature immersion, ecology and gardening inspiration, some herb harvesting, a tea ceremony, a bonfire, and the peace that comes from being amongst people who "get" the things that matter to you.
