Something exciting is growing at The Orchard School!

We are excited to share our new School Library Program, giving our students the opportunity to choose beautiful, living books from our growing library and bring them home to enjoy.

We believe good literature is an important part of a child’s education. Great books build imagination, curiosity, vocabulary and a lifelong love of reading.

Our goal is simple — to put more wonderful books into the hands of children and encourage a love of reading that continues beyond the classroom and into the home. We’re so excited to offer this program to our Orchard students and families!

A little rain won’t keep us inside!

Nature play gives our children the opportunity to slow down, wonder, explore, and learn right in the middle of God’s beautiful creation. Sometimes the most meaningful learning happens when we simply give children the time and space to notice what is around them.

The other day, we watched as the children naturally discovered what happened when chalk met rainwater. They experimented with blending colours, adding water, making new shades, and watching how the chalk changed on the wet ground. What began as simple outdoor play quickly became an opportunity for creativity, curiosity, problem solving, and discovery.

There was no worksheet and no planned experiment—just children noticing, wondering, trying, and learning.

These are the moments we love. Exploring God’s creation in every season, getting a little wet, asking questions, and discovering that there is so much to learn when we take the time to notice.

✨ BIG changes are complete… and our school is officially ready for our little learners! ✨

What a transformation! Over the past little while, there have been so many helping hands working behind the scenes to get our space ready for a brand-new school year.

We are incredibly grateful for our amazing families and volunteers who gave their time, energy and talents to help bring everything together — from renovating our space and installing a brand-new bathroom in our Little Learners classroom, to cleaning up after all the construction, moving things into place and helping us set up our classrooms.

It truly took a community, and we couldn’t be more thankful for ours.

The classrooms are ready, the shelves are filled, and everything is finally in its place. Now all that’s missing are the little hands, big imaginations, laughter and learning that will soon fill these rooms. 🍎📚

We can’t wait to welcome our students through the doors and begin another beautiful year together at The Orchard School.

🌱 It Takes a Community to Help a School Grow!

The Orchard School is looking for volunteers who would love to share a little of their time with our students and school community.

You don’t need to be a teacher or have any special experience — just a willing heart and a desire to help. Whether it’s lending an extra set of hands in the classroom, helping with activities, supporting special events or simply being present with our students, every contribution matters.

We are incredibly grateful for the people God brings alongside our school and the many different gifts each person has to offer.

“Serve one another humbly in love.” — Galatians 5:13

Have a little time to give? We’d love to welcome you into The Orchard School community.

🌿 Calling Our Community Makers, Mentors & Experts!

Some of the most memorable learning happens when children have the opportunity to learn directly from people who are passionate about what they do.

This year, we’d love to welcome members of our community into The Orchard School to share their skills, knowledge, careers, hobbies and God-given talents with our students.

Maybe you keep bees, play an instrument, work with animals, create with your hands, study nature, serve our community, grow food, write stories — or simply have something you love and would enjoy sharing with curious young minds.

You don’t need to be a teacher or prepare a formal lesson. Sometimes a conversation, demonstration, story or hands-on experience can spark a child’s curiosity in ways that last for years.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.” — 1 Peter 4:10

🌿 Adventure Awaits, Little Learner!

Learning doesn’t only happen sitting at a desk. Some of the richest learning happens when children are exploring outdoors, meeting people in their community, listening to stories, creating, moving and experiencing the world around them.

At The Orchard School, our Little Learners program embraces these opportunities through nature, play, hands-on experiences and meaningful community connections, all while keeping Christ at the centre.

We want our youngest students to wonder, ask questions, try new things and discover the joy God has placed throughout His creation.

🌱 Little adventures today. Strong roots for tomorrow.

🌿 The Orchard School Wish List

As we prepare our learning spaces, we’re looking for simple classroom treasures that can be given a new purpose. From books and puzzles to shelving, dramatic play materials, outdoor equipment and cozy reading chairs, your gently used items could be a blessing to our students.

We believe in being good stewards of what God has provided and creating beautiful, meaningful spaces where children can learn, wonder and grow. 🤍

Have something sitting unused that could serve our students? We’d be grateful to give it a new home at The Orchard School. 🌱

🌱 Growing Curious Minds & Kind Hearts

At The Orchard School, learners are encouraged to wonder, explore, create and discover through meaningful play and hands-on experiences.

From investigating the natural world and enjoying beautiful stories to creating art, building, experimenting and learning alongside friends, each day offers opportunities for little minds to grow.

And just as importantly, we nurture kindness, compassion, faith and a love for others, helping children grow in both knowledge and character with Christ at the centre.

✨Curious minds. Kind hearts. Strong roots.

Come learn, play and grow with us at The Orchard School! 🌿
