Food insecurity is rising, and local students need your help this upcoming school year! 🍎

Across Hastings and Prince Edward counties, students need your support as soon as those school doors open in September. Join a Food for Learning program volunteer team, to fuel student nutrition programs and empower every child to EAT. LEARN. SUCCEED.
Without these vital programs, students lose access to essential nutrition that fosters focus, emotional regulation, and academic success.

Reminder for ALCDSB families with children registered for Kindergarten in 2026–27: Bus applications through Triboard Student Transportation Services are due by Wednesday, August 5, 2026, to ensure transportation is available for the first day of school.

Applications are required for:
• first-time bus riders
• students with a new address or school in September

United Way Hastings & Prince Edward is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2026 Backpacks for Success registration! This impactful initiative is designed to help local students head into the new school year with confidence, pride, and the essential supplies they need to succeed. 🎒💕

Each backpack can be purchased by families for just $12.00 per child, making it an accessible option for many. Registration is now open online at www.unitedwayhpe.ca/backpacks and will remain open until Friday, July 17, 2026 or while quantities last.

If you are unable to register online, call United Way HPE at 613-962-9531 for assistance.

Hosting an international student can be an enriching and memorable experience for your family. It is an opportunity to learn more about a new culture and language and enjoy an international experience at home. Many families foster life-long connections with the students they host.
