FYI Kinder Wildcats!! Meet and greet August 27th 😊

Earlier this summer, we announced our Kinder Meet & Greet sessions to help incoming Kindergarten families connect before the first day of school.

The response has been incredible!

Thanks to your feedback, we've expanded the schedule to include even more local schools, including a dedicated session for Trenton-area families.

The goal is simple:
🎒 Meet children who may be attending your child's school.
🤝 Connect with other parents and caregivers.
🏷️ Break the ice with name tags and a fun activity.
📸 Snap a keepsake photo at our Kindergarten Photo Booth.
🎈 Let the kids play, explore, and hopefully leave with a familiar face to look for in September.

Simply register for the time slot assigned to your school and join us for a fun, relaxed playdate designed to help ease those first-day jitters. (NOTE: You only need to book for the hour in which you are to arrive, you may stay as long as you like for your session)

Regular Press Play Café admission applies, and we recommend reserving your spot early as capacity is limited.

We know we couldn't accommodate every school in the region, but we're so excited to welcome families from across Belleville, Quinte West, and the surrounding communities for this special event.

Here's to new friendships, new beginnings, and an amazing start to Kindergarten!

The Ministry of Education requires school boards to share professional learning that will be happening on Professional Activity (PA) Days two weeks in advance of the PA Day. Visit HPEschools.ca to find out more about the learning HPEDSB staff will engage in on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 to support increased student success, well-being and achievement.

Students will find out who their teacher is on the first day of school!

As our school community explored in our book club on Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation, kids thrive when we protect their right to real-world play. Haidt reminds us that children need a play-based childhood, not a screen-based one—where independence, risk-taking, and face-to-face connection help build resilience, social skills, and happiness.
