What an incredible way to end the semester! In my Grade 10 Technology course at ÉSC des Satellites, students from Dryden and Sioux Lookout identified real problems in their communities and designed innovative solutions using electronics, coding, 3D design, and 3D printing.
Their projects included a forest fire suppression system, a secondary smoke detector, an automated plant watering system, a smart dog leash that sends a notification when a pet becomes trapped, a medication reminder device, and a sixth invention designed to address another community need.
I am incredibly proud of their creativity, perseverance, and ability to use technology to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Over the last few days, I had the opportunity to attend ISTELive 2026 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. ISTE, the International Society for Technology in Education, is one of the world's leading organizations dedicated to advancing the effective and innovative use of technology in teaching and learning.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to connect with educators, school leaders, and education innovators from across Canada and the United States. I explored emerging educational technologies, met the creators of innovative products, developed new business partnerships, and learned about new ideas that will benefit the schools, organizations, and educators I work with.
I also attended the annual CanAm social event, where I had the chance to reconnect with colleagues, make new friends, and expand my professional network within the education community.
I am returning home with valuable insights, fresh perspectives, and practical strategies that I look forward to sharing with my clients, partners, and the educational communities I support across Canada.

Canada’s “AI for All” strategy clearly shows the progression of AI literacy. What resonates strongly for me is that this is exactly the framework I have been promoting in my workshops with educators over the last few years.
Too often, we focus on:
→ using AI tools
In my sessions, I consistently push for a broader approach:
→ understanding how AI systems work
→ moving beyond prompts
→ creating and training models
This chart confirms that direction. If we want future-ready learners, AI literacy must go beyond usage. It must include understanding and creation.

Another engaging training session with LEGO Education, based in Denmark, focused on their new Computer Science and AI set, even at 3 a.m. in the middle of the night. It was a great opportunity to explore a range of high-ceiling activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and deeper computational thinking. The session highlighted how these resources can support scalable learning experiences, allowing all learners to engage at their level while still being challenged to extend their thinking.

I am teaching a Grade 10 technology course at École des Satellites in Dryden and Sioux Lookout. My students are applying the engineering design process to develop their own inventions based on real-world problems they have identified.
As part of this process, they are gathering insights by reaching out to people who experience these challenges through surveys and interviews. Each student has selected a specific issue and designed a short survey to better understand it.
I am reaching out to my network to help them collect a wide range of responses from diverse perspectives. Please consider completing and sharing these surveys with your network. Your support will help provide valuable feedback and greatly enrich their learning experience.
The surveys are available in both English and French, and the language can be changed using the option in the upper right corner of each form. Thank you for your support.

Since February, I have had the privilege of working with students from the École des Satellites at the end of the school day, almost every day. This year, I am working more specifically with students from the Dryden and Sioux Lookout communities. École des Satellites, a school within the Conseil scolaire catholique des Aurores boréales, is a non-traditional school. It stands out for its unique model, which consists of small “satellite” sites located in communities that lack access to French-language secondary schools in Northwestern Ontario.
I have the opportunity to teach the Grade 10 Technology and Skilled Trades course, in which students explore the engineering design process through hands-on projects. They learn how to use technological tools safely to solve authentic problems, while developing their creativity and critical thinking, and discovering a wide range of careers and skilled trades.
