Every dollar raised helps support RCSCC QUINTE and keeps the Sea Cadet Program FREE for youth ages 12–18.

We’ll be open Saturday from 9:00 AM to noon to collect your empty cans, wine bottles, and liquor bottles!

Take advantage of our open house and bring those empties inside — nice and safely contained, where they belong. 😉

Why risk letting them wander their way outside when they can come visit us instead? 😂

This fundraiser helps support RCSCC QUINTE, a local Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps program for youth. The cadet program builds leadership, confidence, teamwork, and life skills — and we work hard to keep it free for all cadets to participate. Every bottle and can you donate helps us cover program costs, training, and activities so no cadet is ever turned away.

CTC training helps cadets build practical skills they can continue developing at their home units. Whether they trained in leadership, aviation, expedition, seamanship, music, the skilled trades marksmanship or fitness, the next step is bringing that learning back to corps and squadrons, as well as their communities at large.

Knot-tying was tested in naval training for a reason. Aboard a Flower-class corvette like HMCS Sackville, the North Atlantic gave no grace period; 30-foot swells, freezing spray, and total darkness meant your hands had to know what to do before your brain caught up. The monkey's fist, a dense ball of rope used to weight a heaving line, was one of the most recognizable knots in the fleet. Every sailor knew how to tie one. Every sailor had to.
