Careforce introduces in-house Recognizing Prior Learning (RPL) sponsorship
Kentville-based Careforce Health Services (www.careforce.ca) has recently introduced an in-house sponsorship program to help more of its employees achieve their CCA certification through the a Recognizing Prior Learning (RPL) process either PLAR or Course Recognition.

The sponsorship program is intended to help Careforce employees advance their careers while also increasing the supply of Continuing Care Assistants. Under the new sponsorship program, Careforce – a private agency that employs both CCAs and non-CCAs – will fund up to 100% of the employee’s RPL fees and expenses in exchange for a return-of-service. They will also offer flex-time so that employees can study and complete the coursework.

Careforce General Manager Debbie Raine says the sponsorship program makes sense for many reasons.

“As we continue to require more and more CCAs for our client care, it just makes sense that we would try first to invest in our own loyal employees. It will result in even better care for our clients while also helping our employees earn a higher wage and make strides in their career paths.”

For more information about employment at Careforce, visit www.careforce.ca/employment.
