MSVU Applied Human Nutrition Department A place for future and current AHN students, alumni, and faculty to find out the latest news happening within the Nutrition Department.

The Applied Human Nutrition Program at Mount Saint Vincent University offers degree options at the undergraduate and graduate level. The Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition offers a major in nutrition and a major in dietetics. A major in dietetics requires a dietetic internship. Those students wishing to pursue a Masters in the field of nutrition can choose either a Master of Science in Applied Human Nutrition (thesis) or a Master of Applied Human Nutrition (non-thesis). A degree in Human Nutrition opens students to career opportunities in the field of nutrition and the professional practice of dietetics.

The Breakfast Program Association of Fairview is ready to start another year of the program. 😍

MSVU students have always been an important part of the Breakfast Program, and we would love to continue building that connection. 🤝

We are holding an orientation session this Friday, Sep 25th, at 2pm at Evaristus 131 (right after the IEP/FNP Info Session)!

Pizza will be provided. 🍕

In her presentation, "Beyond beriberi: the importance of thiamine in neurocognitive development", Dr. Whitfield will share a series of studies highlighting thiamine deficiency not just as a major cause of infant mortality in low- and middle-income countries globally, but also as a potentially underappreciated factor driving sub-optimal child neurocognitive development.
