Heavy Civil Construction – Dexter Institute The Heavy Equipment Operator Program will train you to safely and efficiently operate a variety of heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators, loaders, off-highway trucks, graders, backhoes, skid steers, and rollers.

Our Dozer group has been putting their training into action in the quarry this week! 🚜👏

The 850 Dozer has been working on the new quarry high wall road extension, pushing and placing loads hauled in by the rigid frame trucks. Materials were installed in lifts to build up the roadway, and on wetter days, students helped build up the crusher laydown yard pad using loads hauled in by the rigid frame trucks.

The D2 and D4 Dozers spent the week pushing up millings hauled by articulating trucks while learning GPS-guided grading and sloping techniques to build a level pad. Great hands-on experience developing precision operating skills and working as a team on active projects!
