Research on predicting the onset of Alzheimer's continues to evolve. Studies are exploring innovative approaches, such as the clock modelling method, to help identify an approximate age range of when symptoms may begin.
While this research and continuing studies will explore the disease, we must remember there are still important limitations.
What we cannot predict:
- The exact age of onset
- How quickly the disease will progress
Why early detection matters:
- Planning and decision-making
- Access to supports and education
- Lifestyle changes that may help slow progressions
As research and studies continue to shine a light on our understanding and support. The focus must remain on preparation, support and quality of life for individuals and their families.

Are you grieving someone who is still here? đź’”
You may still be caring for them—showing up every day—while quietly mourning the person you once knew.
Maybe your role has shifted.
From child to caregiver.
From partner to decision-maker.
That change can bring sadness, anger, frustration, even guilt. And that is normal.
You have not experienced a physical loss, but you may be living with a very real one. Grieving someone who is still present is complex and often unspoken.
Give yourself permission to feel it.
Grief acknowledged is healthier than grief carried alone.
You are not alone in this. đź’ś
