The primitive heart tube begins rhythmic contractions around this stage, helping establish the embryo’s first circulation.
The heart is still a simple tube, but it is already beginning the work that will support the developing body.

Amniotic fluid is more than a protective cushion. It helps maintain a stable environment for the developing fetus, allows movement, supports musculoskeletal development, and contributes to temperature regulation. The fetus also swallows and inhales small amounts as its lungs and digestive system develop.
