Thoughtful Thursday is back! 🧡

For the third year in a row, our Beacon Hill community is coming together to support the Verdun Elementary School community through our Thoughtful Thursday food drives.

For our first collection of the year, we are collecting snacks until Thursday, October 15th.

Thank you, as always, for your generosity. Your contributions truly have made, and continue to make, a difference in our community. 💙

What an incredible Terry Fox Day at Beacon Hill! 💙Our students and staff filled the schoolyard with energy and school spirit as we came together as a community to walk for an incredible cause. Even better, after yesterday’s final call for donations, we blew past our $8,000 goal, raising $10,760 and counting! 🎉

After the walk, students enjoyed popsicles thanks to our wonderful Home & School, followed by our Grade 6 vs. Staff Soccer Baseball Game. ⚾️

And of course, we ended the day with four lucky students SLIMING Ms. Chown, Mme Gabrielle, Mr. Lag and Ms. Maurice! 🟢😂

Thank you to our entire Beacon Hill community for making today so special and for continuing to keep Terry’s dream alive. ❤️

Have a wonderful long weekend, everyone!

Tomorrow is our Terry Fox Walk, rain or shine! 💙🏃

Thanks to our incredible Beacon Hill community, we’ve already raised over $6,100! We’re getting so close to our $8,000 goal! 🙌

If we reach it, Mr. Lag, Mme Gabrielle, Ms. Chown and Ms. Maurice will get SLIMED! 🟢😱

Every donation makes a difference. Let’s come together for one final push and reach our goal before tomorrow’s walk!

Today was a meaningful day for Beacon Hill. 🧡

Our Kindness Committee students visited classrooms to share a story, creating space for thoughtful conversations and reflection together.

This year’s orange shirts were made even more special because they were designed by one of our own Grade 6 students, Victoria Da Silva. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Maurice for securing a grant that allowed every student to receive a shirt of their own.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, reflect, and honour Every Child Matters together. 🧡

Today, we wear orange. 🧡

Orange Shirt Day is an important time to honour the children, families, and communities impacted by residential schools, and to remember that Every Child Matters.

Today and every day, we remember, reflect, and continue to learn together. 🧡

Tomorrow, September 30th, is Attestation Day (Student Count Day). On this date, the Ministry of Education records student attendance across the province to establish school funding. We kindly ask that your child be present to ensure their attendance is included.

A little look back at our September 25th PED Day! 🍎

Our students made delicious apple tarts, got creative with apple crafts, and enjoyed some fun themed games together.

A sweet day of fun at Beacon Hill! 🍏💙

A little democracy in action at Beacon Hill today! 🗳️

While advance polling took place at our school, our Grade 6 students had the chance to participate in their own mock election and experience the voting process firsthand.

A great opportunity for our students to learn about civic participation and being an active member of their community! 💙
