What a special summer it has been being so warmly welcomed into the community by Defender Tree Service (Defender Tree Service)🥹✨

From inviting us to front row seats of a tree removal to being treated to ice cream on our last day (over 40 of us!!!!!) Defender Tree Service really showed up for our summer camp and their community 🤎

It’s moments like this that create lasting memories in children and make the long days feel a little more magical!

To Defender Tree Service, THANK YOU for being such a huge part of our summer camp and more importantly, bringing more magic into childhood ✨

We can’t wait to see what next summer brings! 👋

We know we’ll be fine with YOUR help!!!! 🤎

Our before & after school programs are looking to take your unwanted, gently used books, toys and materials!

(or if you want to donate something brand new - that’s totally cool too 🥰)

We are looking for ⬇️
♻️ LOOSE PARTS (cardboard boxes, empty containers, gems, rocks)

📝 PAPER (white paper, construction paper, good on one side paper, colouring books)

🎨 ART MATERIALS (markers, crayons, scissors, glue, all the things!)

👑 DRESS UP CLOTHES (for the kiddos in our program and also for our baby dolls, we’ll take the stained newborn onesies you can’t do anything else with 😉)

📚 BOOKS (for children ages 4-12 years old, no baby board books please!!)

🥄 MUD KITCHEN TOOLS (anything you’d use in your kitchen that you no longer need, we’ll take!)

🪵 WOOD COOKIES (big chunks, little chunks, logs, stumps, yes please!!)

The idea that forest school doesn’t have to be separate from traditional schools has been swirling around my life lately…

The idea that ALL children need more access to unstructured, outdoor time simply playing is taking root ✨

Not just families who can afford the private school fees,

Not just “crunchy” families,

Not just families who are against the public school system,

But EVERY 👏 FAMILY 👏

EVERY 👏 CHILD!

The vision at The Trees & Me has changed so much this past year,

We’ve moved away from walking in fear to walking in full blown trust and hope for what is to come 🤎

Here’s to many more years spent partnering with traditional learning systems and planting seeds in the cracks as we go 🌱

Eeeeee!!!!! SO excited to welcome this cutie gem of a human being to The Trees & Me’s team at Precious Blood! ✨

Emily and I met a few years ago while working together at EarlyON and have remained in touch since that time,

My heart was SO happy when she reached out ready to jump in any way she could to work with The Trees & Me 🤎🥹

🍎 Emily has been a Registered Early Childhood Educator since 2019,

🧠 She also has a Bachelor of Psychology (which explains why she is so curious about human behaviour),

🎨 Lover of all things arts and crafts - from painting and sewing to working with clay (get ready for all the artsy things to come to Precious Blood 😍),

🤎 Emily loves to support ALL children’s sense of self confidence with her “you can do anything you set your mind to” attitude ✨

🌍 With a devotion to sustainability and environmental education to help build a world where children love and care for all forms of life (even the creepy crawlies)

Doesn’t she sound amazing?! Just wait, this one was my favourite ⬇️

Emily supports children in finding and being their truest selves in a world where there is so much pressure to fit the mold 🥺

This is a REAL LIFE, VALUABLE SKILL that is being forgotten…

The skill of self-trust, confidence and resilience 🤎

There’s a different kinda ✨chic✨ vibe happening here at The Trees & Me and we want YOU to be a part of it 🤎

We still have a few openings for our programs this fall and we’d love to partner with educators who are yearning for change not only in their own lives, but in our WORLD!

What you do matters here, and the way you show up here creates a ripple effect of much needed change in children, the school system and the next generation 🙏

Finally catching up on sharing the incredible things our camps have been getting up to this summer!

This week our Exeter summer campers spent the morning with Experience Exeter and Ausable Bayfield Conservation observing and leaning about insects 🐛

We decorated pots and planted seeds in them 🪴

Followed by a beautiful butterfly craft made from a coffee filter and clothespin 🦋

Shout out to the Exeter Family Eye Care for the cool sunglasses we got to take home with us 😎

This was a great way to not only get connected to our community but also further the children’s understanding of our love and respect for nature 🤎✨

Thank you for having us Exeter BIA! We look forward to more mornings like this!
