That’s a wrap on Oliver!

What an incredible weekend at Unity Christian High School! From the first note to the final bow, our students brought Oliver! to life with energy, talent, and heart.

The stage came alive through stunning performances, creative set design, detailed costumes, and the hard work of an amazing cast and crew. It was a joy to see months of preparation come together in such a powerful way.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this production possible: our dedicated students, directors, producers, volunteers, and families. And to our community, thank you for filling the seats and supporting the arts at Unity!

We’re so proud of what was accomplished on that stage.

Opening night is here!

After weeks of rehearsals, set building, and preparation, our student cast and crew are ready to take the stage. Tonight’s performance is officially sold out, and we are so grateful for the incredible support from our school community.

The show starts at 7 PM, and the excitement continues with additional performances on Saturday as well. Limited tickets are available for the 1 PM show at the door on a first come, first served basis (approximately 10 tickets). Doors open 45 minutes prior to show start times.

We are so proud of the dedication and hard work of our students and staff who made this production possible.

Our Grade 9 Tech students have been hard at work crafting custom cutting boards, bringing their ideas to life through thoughtful design and hands-on skill.

Each student chose their own unique design, applying key concepts like symmetry and contrast to create something both functional and visually striking. With a strong focus on sanding and finishing techniques, the final products showcase impressive attention to detail and craftsmanship.

What a day for our Junior Badminton team at the South Junior Regional Tournament on April 16 at Maple Ridge Secondary School!

Thirteen athletes represented our school with skill, determination, and great sportsmanship. It was an outstanding day of competition, and our team made us proud both on and off the court.

The stage is coming to life at Unity!

Rehearsals are in full swing as students and staff prepare for this year’s production of Oliver. From set design to incredible costumes, it’s exciting to see everything coming together behind the scenes. We can’t wait for you to see it all come to life on stage.

Calling all Unity alumni and students!

Get your team together for the Unity Alumni Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, May 9 at Timothy Christian School in Barrie

This 8 team tournament guarantees at least 3 games per team and is a great way to reconnect, compete, and have some fun. Each team must include a minimum of 2 Unity alumni or current students

What to expect
- First serve at 9:00 am
- Complimentary pizza and pop lunch
- Team shirts provided
- Great competition and community atmosphere

- Deadline to sign up is May 1
- A $25 non refundable deposit is required

We are excited to announce that tickets are now available for Unity’s Spring Theatre Production. Join us for this year’s play, Lionel Bart’s Oliver! on April 17 and 18, 2026.

Based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel Oliver Twist, this well loved musical tells the story of a young orphan who escapes the workhouse in search of a better life. Along the way, Oliver meets a cast of unforgettable characters including the Artful Dodger, Fagin, and Nancy, and discovers the importance of friendship, courage, and belonging. Filled with memorable songs and lively performances, Oliver! is a production the whole family will enjoy.

This Unity production of Lionel Bart’s Oliver! is presented by special arrangement with Cameron Mackintosh.

Directed by Beth Hill and Yvonne Fraser and produced by Jeff Weening and the students of Unity Christian High School.

What a great day in the shop!

Half of our Grade 9 tech class spent time in Mr. Hilverda’s metal shop today, getting hands-on experience building their very own toolboxes. From learning to use new machines to putting their skills into action, students in the tech class had an amazing time creating something they can be proud of.

Don’t worry if you missed out, the rest of the class will get their turn in the metal shop in a couple weeks!

Awesome work, Grade 9!

Our Grade 9 tech students have been hard at work in the shop building their own custom stools and the results look fantastic!

From measuring and cutting to assembling and sanding, students have been developing practical woodworking skills while bringing their projects to life. Some stools are already finished, while others are in the final stages, but the craftsmanship and effort are clear to see.

There’s more to the shop than just building, though! Students have also been busy keeping their work areas clean and organized — an important part of any good workshop.

It was Frog Dissection Day for our Grade 10 science students!

Today’s class moved from textbooks to the lab as students took part in a hands-on exploration of amphibian anatomy. Working in pairs, they carefully examined the internal structures of frogs, identifying the organs and systems they’ve been learning about in class.

Activities like this give students the opportunity to connect theory with real-world observation. Along the way, they practiced collaboration, and applied their critical thinking skills.
