As a daycare provider, I can say one of the worst experiences you can have is a client who doesn’t want to pay. I recently had that experience and hope that other daycares in my area don’t take these parents on. I went through my normal interview with the mother of the child I ended up sitting. We talked over everything, as I always do, and explained if they were absent due to something on their end, aka they call in sick, take their child out of my daycare for some reason or anything else that isn’t my fault the child isn’t present, they still have to pay. If it’s my fault, I’m sick or I close the daycare down, then they don’t pay. They took their child out of my daycare for three days and then fought me over paying. They gave me their two weeks and I informed them they still had to pay for the week ands the two weeks, so a total of three weeks and she at that time decided to tell me she wasn’t paying anything. I told her that she options but I would be taking them to small claims court and that I wouldn’t only go for the three weeks, but the days pay I would miss for going to court. Then hung up. They eventually decided to pay, which was nice I didn’t have to take them to court, cause honestly what daycare needs that? I have done what I can to inform other daycares, posting on daycarebear.ca and filing their phone numbers under parents you don’t want to hire, now all I can do is inform the other daycares I know that follow me on Facebook so they don’t get hit by these parents as well. Starting back up soon. It's been nice being off and having time with my son, but now it's time to get back to work!

Only two more weeks and two days and daycare will be closed for a while.. I will miss doing daycare, but I need the relaxing/nesting time before my son arrives!

It's the Elmvale zoo field trip today. Too bad it's cloudy, but at least the rain is suppose to hold off till later afternoon early evening.

Mother's Day is almost upon us.. What shall the children do?

Well, Valentine's projects were a smash. The parents loved their cards with the children's coloring in them, the hand projects, cupcakes, brownies and cinnamon hearts! So very cute.. Gosh, I love those children!

Well. I have come to that time of year where the kids and I are working on Valentine's Day projects. Really love doing these projects and can't wait till the kids are old enough to do parts of the projects themselves..

So glad that the holidays are over.. I was so busy that it just flew by. Now things are settling down and getting back to normal!

So, the holiday season is upon us and this is sure a busy time for me. Daycare is booming and the kids are having so much fun with one another. My daycare Christmas party is coming up and I can't wait to see the kids expressions at their gifts!

So, my daycare is full at the moment. This is great!
