Vulnerable post:

An ADHD life-hack that I often use is:
🙋‍♀️Timed tasks.

Too often I struggle with starting simple, household tasks. My brain breaks them down into the micro steps and I get overwhelmed before I even begin.

A task that a neurotypical sees as "wash the dirty dishes.." my Neuro-spicy brain turns into a production and I delay doing the task of washing my dirty dishes.

Lately, I have been timing how long it takes me to do mundane tasks.

More often than not, it is under ten minutes. Washing my dirty dishes, by hand, is one of those ten minute tasks.

To help Future Teri and I pile the dishes, prep the wash basins and I put on a reality tv show. I fill one sink with hot, soapy water and one to rinse the clean dishes. I get into the zone and before I know it, the dishes are done and the sink and counters are clean.

It helps when I combine it with another task, such as baking something in the oven while I do the dishes, to enjoy after, like cookies for dessert.

Can you relate to this post? What are your go-tricks and strategies? :)
