September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – a day to honour Residential School Survivors, their families, impacted communities, and the children who never returned home. This day responds to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 80 and encourages all people in Canada to learn about the history and ongoing impacts of the Residential School system.

Throughout September, events will take place across the country and at Georgian College, including raising the Survivors’ Flag and Every Child Matters flag on our campuses. These symbols honor Survivors and reinforce our shared responsibility to advance reconciliation.

We are all called to engage in truth-telling, learning, and meaningful action.

Join us as we continue the collective work of healing and reconciliation.
