Contact North Information Session & Education Guidance, August 26, 9am-2:30pm (Booked) & 2:30pm-3:30pm (Walk ins):
A representative from Contact North will be available at the Career Centre to provide information and guidance on training, certifications, and education opportunities. Clients can ask questions about free and paid programs, explore career and education pathways, and receive support researching programs based on their interests, including information about colleges, course options, fees, program duration, and admission requirements. This is a great opportunity for anyone considering further education or skills training and unsure where to begin.
Note: Career Centre clients inform their Job Coach to book time slots. Others: Walk-in between 2pm-4pm.

Ontario Works Services – Every Tuesday, 2pm – 4pm
Ontario Works staff will be visiting the Career Center every Tuesday from 2 pm – 4 pm to answer questions and provide referrals for Ontario Works programs and services. Ontario Works offers a wide range of services including support for basic needs, shelter and housing supports, and life stabilization goals and objectives. Ontario Works staff can assist you with applying for social assistance, reviewing supports and benefits, and offering local referrals to community agencies. Ontario Works staff can also connect you to your worker, update your employment status, review participation benefits and review the Ontario Works “My Benefits” portal.

Looking for help preparing your resume? Join this workshop for personalized, in-person support with formatting, content, and overall resume presentation. Bring your resume on a USB stick so you can open it on one of the Career Centre computers and receive guidance from a Job Coach. Space is limited to 4 participants. Reserve your spot early! Resume Writing - Wednesday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
"Resume Writing" workshop provides participants with essential knowledge and practical tips to craft an effective resume that stands out. From formatting and structuring to highlighting key accomplishments, attendees will learn how to create a compelling resume that grabs the attention of employers and increases their chances of landing interviews.
