Simcoe County Regional Science & Technology Fair

The 2020 Canada Wide Science Fair has been cancelled for the first time in 59 years. Our committee would like to thank all students who indicated an interest in our virtual fair. As a result of this decision from YSC, our virtual fair is also cancelled.

We would like to encourage all of you to continue to improve your projects. We can't wait to see what you've got in store for us next year!

Our 2020 Science Fair has been cancelled in support of efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. Students in grades 7 - 12 who have already registered for our fair are invited to contact us at [email protected] for information on how to submit an online version of their project.

Our Science Fair Committee is carefully considering next steps as we process new information about COVID-19 mitigation efforts in Ontario. We will make an announcement about the 2020 fair as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

We are currently recruiting judges for our 2020 Fair! This year our fair is taking place on April 3 and 4.

Judging at the Science Fair is a fun and rewarding experience. No particular expertise is required. You will be provided with clear guidelines and work with a small team to judge one category of student projects.

We believe that our judges have the best job of all: they get to spend time with our enthusiastic young scientists and hear details about their experiments, studies, and innovations.

Day 6: Award Ceremony
What a great day for Team Simcoe! 1 silver, 5 bronze, and two special awards! We are so proud of each student on the team for all of their hard work and team spirit this week. What a great bunch of students!

Day 5: Public Viewing, STEM workshops, and Astronaut David Saint Jacques
Ava got the opportunity to talk to David Saint Jacques who is currently up in space. During her STEM workshop she was also very excited to see books and manuscripts from Sir Issac Newton and Einstein.

Day 4: Tour Day
Fundy trail + caves + beach
The rain held off until the bus ride home. A great day of exploring. A tired crew coming home!

Day 3: Freddy Festival
Blowing off steam after a very full day of judging. Food trucks, inflatable games, and music!
