Why do you prioritize moving?
What keeps you motivated?

Tell me in the comments.... I wanna hear your why.

Whether it's for your kids.
For a race, to stay strong, to keep fit, for fun?

What's your why?

My why is layered, and constantly evolving.

Yoga came into my life at a young age, during an extremely difficult time at that young age. Yoga hands down helped me move, and continues to get me through the tough stuff.

Then luckily in my mid twenties, my mom got me into gym life as we navigated strength training together.

Later on, that gym time would lead me through yet another difficult life hurdle.

And now,
I'm digging even deeper as I navigate another interesting life hurdle.

So, I guess my why would be that I move for my mental health, and to keep my body strong so I can continue to get over these darn hurdles!

😉❤️😉

Movement can help you stay positive, even during the lowest of lows. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Movement is therapy.

Life is messy.
But it's beautiful.
Movement can make it better 😉
So, put on the shoes, tie up those laces, get outside & soak up the sun!

Happy May Long Weekend! ☀️

Yes, it's cool out there, BUT that doesn't mean we can't enjoy it.

For a lot of us, a three-day weekend triggers one of two modes:

1. The Collapse: Complete couch potato status, trying to sleep off a month of work fatigue... hello Netflix & Chill.

2. The Sprint: Treating the next 72 hours like an Olympic event of yard work, spring cleaning, and social plans... you know what I'm talking about ;-)

But here’s the thing: by Monday night, you aren’t actually refreshed. You’re just exhausted in a different way.

If your Monday-to-Friday is defined by screens, stress, and hours of sitting, your body and your mind don’t actually want zero movement, nor an insane version of tackling the to-do list either.

Your nervous system just wants a reset.

Before you dive into your weekend plans, here are 3 simple ways to truly decompress your body and mind over the next few days:

Trade the Workout for an Unwind;
If your stress levels have been redlined all week, swap high-intensity grinding for gentle mobility. Spend 20 minutes opening up your chest, stretching your hips, and letting your breathing slow down.

Change your visual depth;
Bundle up & get outside! Your eyes have been locked onto a screen 18 inches from your face. Soak in some nature, look out at the horizon, admire the trees, and let your vision naturally signal to your brain that it's safe to relax.

Move without a metric;
Drop the apps and the watches... in fact, leave the smartwatch at home. No tracking steps, no pace goals, no data. Just go for a walk or stretch simply because it feels good to move.

The goal of a long weekend isn’t to maximize productivity OR perfectly optimize your rest. It’s just to give your physical structure the space to fully unplug.

Step away from the desktop. The work can wait until Tuesday.

How are you hitting the reset button this weekend? Let me know in the comments! 👇

Why movement & mobility are important to me.

To live fully.
To enjoy my hobbies (such as gardening).
To be present.
To feel good.
To move with ease.
To fully embrace the outdoors.
To teach.
To be mentally engaged.

I don't move to stay fit; I move so my body never becomes the reason I have to say 'no' to life.

What's your why?
