Today, we honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

Together with the children, we are learning about kindness, belonging, respect, and the importance of listening to Indigenous stories and voices.

Our centres will be closed September 30.

Elements had a front-row seat for Melissa’s Road Race, cheering on all the runners from the sidelines!
A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, with an extra special cheer for some of our own staff runners! 🎉

All About Me in the Chipmunk Room!

The Chipmunks have been getting creative while learning all about themselves! They traced their faces and created abstract self-portraits on the mirror, then explored shapes by making their own shape art self-portraits.

A fun week of creativity, self-expression, and celebrating what makes each of us unique!

Five Senses Week in the Elk Room! 👀👂👃✋

The Elks have been putting their senses to the test! From guessing mystery smells and exploring touch boxes, to cup-and-string telephones, a quiet bell obstacle course, and a five senses scavenger hunt !

They even got creative with coloured ice painting and homemade scratch-and-sniff art using Jello crystals. 🎨

Learning through seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, and lots of play!

Banff needs more affordable child care spaces, help us make our community’s urgent need heard!

Next week, Mayor DiManno will attend the Alberta Municipalities Convention and Trade Show. The Day Care Society of Banff wants to send her with hundreds of letters from Banffites calling for immediate affordability funding for the 36 new licensed spaces at Elements Child Care.

📝 Letters are needed by September 21 at noon.

Hand a paper copy to the front desk of Banff Child Care Centre, to Jodi at Puzzles, or Hollie at Elements.
You can also email a copy to [email protected]

Whether you’re a young family, local employer, or community member, your voice can make a difference.

Follow the link below for tips on writing your letter and help us show just how important affordable child care is for Banff families and our community. 💛

Opening a third child care centre has been a major project for The Day Care Society of Banff, and we are so excited that the day is finally here!

We’re incredibly proud to expand child care options for our community and can’t wait to welcome all of the new children and families through the doors of Elements.

Here’s to the beginning of an exciting new chapter! 💛
