Taigh Curiam Daycare - Baddeck

❄️🌧️Due to current weather and poor road conditions, the centre will be delaying our opening today to ensure the safety of our staff and families.
We will reassess conditions at 9:00 AM. If there is improvement, an update will be sent regarding a possible opening time of 10:00 AM.

Bay St Lawrence Community Centre is scooting along!

Construction is complete and by Wednesday all the finishing touches will be done and we'll be ready for inspections by the engineers. Wednesday will be a cleaning day and on Saturday we will be unboxing and setting up the furniture and toys.
All of the finishing processes rely on out side entities and it's not unreasonable to expect some adjustments after engineering review.

We'll post the Bay St. Bay St Lawrence checklist soon!

Auction items will be available for pickup starting Wednesday, April 1st at the daycare.

We are pleased to inform everyone that we are closer than we have ever been, to releasing an opening date for Taigh Cùraim (Ingonish) Day Care.

The checklist outlines the remaining steps our contractors must complete for the expansion project. As previously mentioned, these external contractors have their own processes and timelines, so we are still unable to provide a confirmed opening date at this time.

However, as we near the end, we will continue to update our construction checklist so everyone will know each time a box is checked ✅or a task is complete 👊or something is added 😭.

To put things into perspective, our director has confirmed that if all items on the checklist were completed today, the day care would be ready to open tomorrow.

We continue to appreciate positive support of the community.

Hey Bay St Lawrence, we haven't forgot about you❤️. We have put the 'pedal to the metal' in your backyard, and we are catching up to the progress in Ingoinsh. 🏁 Your checklist will be available soon as well.

We just unboxed these! Who knows, maybe some of the littles in Ingonish daycare will develop a love for mountain biking - Hitting the trails at Cape Smokey or become future leaders of Velo Cape Breton Bicycle Association or find themselves at L'Étape du Tour de France

Ingonish Update.

We are waiting on:
- NSP inspection in early Dec
- Installation of alarm system.
- Final inspections to happen in early December.
- Policies and handbooks have been updated
- Arrival of fire rated doors - one arrived damaged
- Final funding from dept.

Once we have dates lined up for all these things we will post them here.
