We are so excited to be kicking off our FREE Farm Fresh Food Box program!

With funding from the Department of Culture, Communities, Heritage and Tourism, we are helping to support local Farmers right here on Cape Breton Island.

This session will consist of four 4-week cycles and provide fresh local produce from local Cape Breton Farms, with customers receiving seasonally available produce once a week at select pick up locations (no delivery available).

These Farm Fresh Food Boxes will contain a selection of seasonally fresh produce, that is selected by the Hub staff and producers.

There will be 35 households selected per 4-week cycle.

**This program is open to everyone in Cape Breton regardless of income or background.**

Households selected will be contacted by the Hub staff, and will only be selected from this forms responses.

Hye-won grows tired of life in the city and returns to her hometown in the countryside. Based on an original story by Igarashi Daisuke, which has been noted for the Tetsuka Osamu Culture Award, one of the top 3 comic awards in Japan. This adaptation is created in director Yim Soon-rye's warm conceptualization of Korea's beautiful nature and various foods

DOC: "E.1027: EILEEN GREY & THE HOUSE BY THE SEA" (2024) (June 11th, 6:30pm)
A cinematic journey into the mind of Eileen Gray. The Irish designer builds a refuge on the Côte d'Azur in 1929. Her first house is a discrete, avant-garde masterpiece. She names it E.1027, a cryptic marriage of her initials and those of Jean Badovici, with whom she built it. Le Corbusier, upon discovering the house, becomes intrigued, obsessed. He covers the walls with murals and publishes photos of them. Gray describes these paintings as vandalism and demands restitution. He ignores her wishes and instead builds his famous Cabanon directly behind E.1027, which dominates the narrative of the site to this day. A story about the power of female expression, and men’s desire to control it

Michelle Greenwell, the proprietor of the Cape Breton Tea Company and of Greenwell Center for Holistic Health, will present a workshop on shoes and walking – choosing the best footwear for you and how to walk in them.

Michelle Greenwell, the proprietor of the Cape Breton Tea Company and of The Greenwell Centre for Holistic Health, will present a workshop on summer energy levels – what you need in summer self-care to be your best in energy and vitality.

Our next Baddeck Community Foot Care session with Front Door Foot Care is July 13! Sessions will be offered at the Northwood Victoria County office at 521A Chebucto St in Baddeck. Fees are $55 and are due at the time of service to the service provider. We are now pleased to offer online booking for this service.
