Aurora Little Sprouts Home Daycare Where little sprouts grow with love, learning, and care. Hi! I’m Maria Befas. I can't wait to welcome your little one into our space. 🌿

As a homeschooling mom of two for the past eight years, I know exactly what it’s like to want more for your child than just a place to stay. You're looking for a second home—a space where they are truly seen, heard, and nurtured.

My daycare is a small, cozy circle of just five children, allowing me to bring my professional background as a support therapist and Spanish teacher into a warm, family setting. Because I believe children thrive when their bodies are as well-nourished as their minds, I place a strong focus on organic nutrition and healthy fuel for our daily adventures.

Our days together are a gentle blend of Spanish and English songs, creative play, and genuine connection. You get the peace of mind that comes with my First Aid/CPR certification and a clear background check; your child gets the same warmth and intentional care I’ve given my own family for nearly a decade.

Learning through play is the best kind of learning.

When you put a grape in plain water, it usually sinks because the grape is denser (more tightly packed) than the water. When you add lots of salt, the water becomes denser, which means it can push up on the grape more strongly. If the salt water becomes denser than the grape, the grape floats. This experiment teaches us about density and buoyancy—objects float when the liquid pushes up on them more than gravity pulls them down.

Light bends when it moves from one place to another—like from air into water—because it changes speed, kind of like a bike slowing down when it rides from pavement onto grass. That’s why things can look wiggly or moved in water! A mirror can also bounce light back to our eyes, and the sun is the big light source that sends all those light rays for us to see. So, with water, mirrors, and sunlight, we can watch light bend and bounce in really cool ways!
