Tell me about your reasons for not practicing or not showing up. My last student is here fresh from surgery on his hand this week and told me he could move his right thumb to help out the left hand.

Even when a student is only doing an online lesson, Katana still comes by to listen to the music.

I was doing a demo for my student: revolutionary op 10 no. 12 - Chopin. He said he has the music. He opened his Casio piano demo book and sure enough, there it was (minus all the original dynamics). What are the odds??? So for “fun” I thought I’d show a grade 6 RCM student a heavy duty ARCT etude for a quarantine session. Today was show day after 4 days of practicing. He starts off by saying “I can only do the first page slow”. He proceeds to actually play it slow and get the idea of this monster. Super proud of him.

All lessons suspended for 2 weeks as a pre-caution. But seriously...go practice :)

Today was the final day of summer lessons and for some, the final day of lessons with me after years together. Its always crazy to see my students year after year and then one day their off to University, then graduating and getting married.

Our final piano lesson together and a cool mug to add to my collection. Sad to see her go, but glad she’s moving on with a smile.

Haven’t see these two on stage since we were had “Beauty and the Beast” with UTC. Alina did great with her first solo performance ever. I asked Paulina just a few days ago if she would come sing at my recital. We ran a little sound check at the start and without real rehearsal, we were rocking like old times.
Todays recital went pretty smooth at the new location. Staff was great, students were great weather was great.

I've always held m recitals in the same town for 20+ years. I found this place and thought it was time for a change.
My students are gonna love this new place!

My first show with Unionville Theatre Company is also part of their 40th anniversary. I am the vocal director and rehearsal pianist for this production.
