Grade 3/4 - Room 8 and 9 Pineview Panthers

Following the direction from UCDSB a new private group has been created. Only parents of Room 8/9 students will be accepted to be members. Thanks so much for your understanding.

Students from Room 8 have been given these sheets to prepare for their habitat / soil presentation. Some students have chosen to bring the sheet home to practice and prepare more at home.
Presentations will likely be at the end of next week (depending on preparation time needed in class)
They spent most of the morning with Mme during art, creating their animals and finishing up their habitats! They are so excited to present and display their hard work.

We will be starting the Scolastic reading club for our classrooms! Scholastic is a company that sells books at a very affordable price. How far can you throw a ball while maintaining control? Can you pass the ball in a way that makes it possible for your partner to catch it? Sure, you can throw far, but if your partner is unable to catch it because form was sacrificed for distance, then the pass is missed.
Today we worked on control, form, and gradually increasing our distance. If the pass was complete, partners increased the distance. If the pass was incomplete, the distance was shortened.

Room 8 students are hard at work to create their habitats ! Step one and two are complete. They painted their shoe box insides and have collected materials from outside to really create the habitat
Step 3 and 4 will involve making their animals out of plasticine and preparing what they plan to say when they present their habitats to the class. 

Room 9 students were introduced to their new science unit with Mr Simpson. Ask them what they did to learn about their chairs.

Room 8 students will begin building the shoebox habitats tomorrow to conclude our Habitats and Soil Units. Ask your child what habitat and organisms they are going to build.

Happy Halloween Weekend Room 8&9 families

We are working on sound blends such as “ch, eau, au” in our French reading!

I’ve had quite the suggestions on what I should be for halloween this year. Guess we’ll just have to wait to see until tomorrow.
Remember tomorrow students can arrive in the costumes 🎃👻

Borden Ball is our current sport unit in Phys. Ed. This game is all about strategy, teamwork, and quick thinking. Ask your child how to play Borden Ball!
