What a remarkable Class of 2026! 🎓

On Thursday and Friday, Athabasca University celebrated 2,127 graduates from across Canada and around the world. Together, they earned 2,131 credentials across 49 programs, proving once again that learning at AU is truly Like No Other.

Congratulations to every graduate, and thank you to the families, friends, faculty, and staff who helped make this achievement possible.

Congratulations to William (Bill) Snow, recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Science degree at Convocation 2026.

A respected conservationist and community-builder, Snow is being recognized for his leadership in fostering collaboration among Indigenous nations, Elders, researchers, governments, and industry in support of conservation and stewardship efforts across Alberta.

Alison Rowney (Bachelor of Arts '26)
📍 Warman, Saskatchewan

Meet Alison Rowney, this year's Governor General's Academic Silver medalist—an honour awarded to Athabasca University's top undergraduate student. 🥈

Inspired by her own life experiences and a passion for understanding how people think, behave, grow, and evolve, Rowney pursued a degree in psychology through AU.

Rowney currently works in business development, where she supports young women in developing and nurturing their careers, and hopes to continue her educational journey.

Congratulations, Alison. Well done!
