Ashmont School SPERD

The grade 3 class had a blast at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden yesterday! Such a great day! ☀️🌲🌳🌷

Ashmont’s Grade 10 students visited Fort Edmonton to connect their classroom learning with the history of Treaty 6 and the people who lived, worked, traded, and travelled in this region. Students explored the fort and learned about the challenges of life in the late 1800s, gaining a deeper understanding of how the land, environment, and diverse communities shaped Alberta’s history. Walking along the riverbank and experiencing the historic site firsthand brought their learning to life.

Some of our students enjoyed a fantastic day of community learning in and around St. Paul with Miss Moosewah and Ms. Paliwoda.

The day began with a private tour of Owlseye Greenhouse, where Monique shared her wealth of knowledge about plants and gardening. Students also transplanted seedlings to take home and help keep mosquitoes at bay this summer.

After lunch and a chance to cool off at the splash park, students wrapped up their day with a scavenger hunt at the Musée St. Paul Museum, including a visit to the newly added Willingdon train station.

Thank you to Owlseye Greenhouse and the Musée St. Paul Museum for helping make this a fun and educational experience for our students!

The grade 3 field trip is on the way back to the school. They are expected to arrive by 8:30pm
