Desert Sands Community School

How are we turning reflection into action on this National Day for Truth & Reconciliation? Today (Orange Shirt Day) we honour the children whose identities were erased and stand with survivors and families carrying intergenerational trauma. Reconciliation is a verb. At Desert Sands Community School we are committed to moving from reflection to action. We are centering Indigenous perspectives in curriculum, embedding Indigenous history and perspectives in teaching and learning, facilitating learning opportunities on and from the land, and creating more inclusive, safe spaces. 💛🧡
