Thanks to everyone who joined us last evening. We learned so much from our guests Rob and Laurel Zuidema! We got to see lefse made in real time using Laurel's great-grandmother's lefse pan. Our Grade 10 Social Studies and Grade 12 History classes came alive as Rob shared the connections and significance of WW2 to his family, and how it influenced the decision to migrate to Canada.
We enjoyed videos, photos and stories of their life as sailors. Rob made a tasty peachy sambal chicken.

See you all on June 13 at 3pm for our South Asian cultural experience evening. All are welcome! Events sponsored by United Way BC, Harambee Alliance for Health, Wellness, and Aging Society, Gold Trail School District 74, Sage Hills Evangelical Free Church.
