Arnprior District High School celebrated 150 today.
Doors opened at 10 a.m. and by 11, the gym was packed for the official welcome. Food trucks rolled in right after, serving up barbecue and dessert to a lineup that didn't quit.
Alumni flipped through decades of yearbooks and newspapers. The ADHS concert band played. Robotics teams ran demonstrations. Guests lined up to view the 150th anniversary capsule and add their own piece to a new one, headed into the ground this year for the next generation to dig up.
At noon, students took on the Rapids athletic skills challenge. At 1 p.m., alumni staff swapped stories in the teacher lounge. At 2 p.m., the whole school crowded onto the track, 150 years, one photo.
ADHS broadcasting and photography students were busy all day, snapping photos throughout the school and setting up a room to capture video messages from guests marking the milestone.
