I don’t think people realize how attached childcare providers get to the children we care for.
We know which cry means they’re hurt and which one means they’re mad.
We notice when they’re quieter than usual.
We celebrate the new words, the first steps, the successful potty trips, and the days they finally eat the food they’ve refused 47 times. 😂
We know when they need an extra hug before they even ask for one.
And somewhere between wiping noses, changing diapers, breaking up toddler arguments, and singing the same song for the 900th time…
They become OUR babies too. 🥹
Then one day they move classrooms, start school, or leave altogether, and we’re just expected to act like a tiny person we spent almost every day loving didn’t take a little piece of our heart with them.
Childcare is a job.
But loving these babies has never felt like “just a job.” ❤️
